Jackie Chan’s ‘The Foreigner’ hits Australian cinemas on 5 October

The Foreigner Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan is back in a new film from Casino Royale director Martin Campbell. Roadshow Films has announced that THE FOREIGNER will hit Australian shores on 5 October 2017.

Quan (Chan) is a humble businessman with a buried past seeks justice when his daughter is killed in an act of terrorism. A cat-and-mouse conflict ensues with a government official (Pierce Brosnan), whose past may hold clues to the killers’ identities.

This is the first feature film Campbell has directed in six years, with Green Lantern followed by a series of TV movies. Similarly, Chan has been heard by western audiences a few times in the last few years, but he hasn’t been seen in a major English-language film since at least The Karate Kid. Mind you, we’re quietly ignoring Renny Harlin’s Skiptrace co-starring Johnny Knoxville. Instead, we’ve seen him in a few films like Kung Fu Yoga and Railroad Tigers that had limited releases in Australia.
