It’s been a big couple of years for broad Australian comedies. Or to put it more accurately, Australian film has often swung between small dramas and attempts to tickle our collective funny-bones. As a result THAT’S NOT MY DOG!, announced today by Transmission Films for an 8 March 2018 release, has a ridiculously large pool of comedians to draw upon.
The film, directed by Dean Murphy (Strange Bedfellows, Charlie & Boots), centres around Shane Jacobson (playing himself) who is throwing a party and invited are the funniest people he knows. The only request: come armed with nothing but the funniest jokes you’ve ever heard.
In what sounds more like a gathering than a movie, it will also feature Australian musicians The Black Sorrows, Russell Morris, Adam Brand, Dan Kelly and the Meltdown, playing their biggest hits live, right throughout the party.
