CJ Entertainment have released an international trailer for GO-GO SISTERS (Thang Nam Ruc Ro), the blockbuster Vietnamese film that stormed its native box office. You can check out the subtitled video below.
Based on the wonderful 2011 South Korean film Sunny from Kang Hyeong-Cheol, it follows a group of seven women who reunite after 25 years. Starring Hoang Yen Chibi, Thanh Hang, and Hoang-Oanh, the parallel stories run between 1970s South Vietnam and the role of women in a post-unification contemporary Vietnam.
It premiered in Vietnam last week from director Nguyen Quang Dung, and is perhaps best know for The Lady Assassin in 2013.
Filled with brightly coloured set and music, the song pays tribute to the likes of Singin’ in the Rain and is filled with period music and new songs created specifically for the film. In other words, it looks right up our alley.
