South Korea’s ‘Accidental Detective 2’ gets international trailer

Accidental Detective 2

It’s been three years since The Accidental Detective hit South Korean cinemas. Now CJ Entertainment brings us the subtitled international trailer for THE ACCIDENTAL DETECTIVE 2 (탐정: 리턴즈). You can check out the trailer below.

The original film was based loosely on Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train, and followed a true-crime enthusiast, Dae-Man (Kwon Sang-Woo), and Senior Detective Noh (Sung Dong-Il) who had been demoted.

Kwon Sang-woo and Sung Dong-il reprise their roles in this outing, quitting their jobs to open a private detective agency. Despite their high hopes, they soon find themselves with only trivial cases such as spouse infidelity, unpaid debt, and missing cats. Then one day, a woman walks into the office, wanting to find the truth behind the death of her fiance. Offering a substantial reward, they bring onboard a third member, Yeochi (Lee Kwang-Soo), a Mensa genius and a small-time online private eye also known as “Grasshopper.” Together they launch a full-fledged investigation.

Lee Eon-Hee takes over directorial duties from Kim Jung-Hoon. THE ACCIDENTAL DETECTIVE 2 is due out in Korea and the US in June 2018.
