‘Angel of Mine’: Noomi Rapace, Yvonne Strahovski, and Luke Evans to star in Australian thriller

Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus), Yvonne Strahovski The Handmaid's Tale, Dexter) and Luke Evans (Girl on a Train, Beauty and the Beast and The Alienist) will star in Angel of Mine, the new Australian feature film by director Kim Farrant (Strangerland).

The script has been adapted by Luke Davies (Lion) and David Regal from the 2008 French film L’Empreinte by Safy Nebbou, which starred Catherine Frot and Sandrine Bonnaire in the lead roles. The new film’s cast also includes Richard RoxburghFinn Little and Rob Collinsalongside Tracy Mann, Pip Miller and Rachel Gordon.

The narrative follows Lizzie (Rapace), who along with her ex-husband Mike (Evans), who is still struggling to cope with the loss of her daughter several years earlier and becomes convinced that the daughter of a stranger (Strahovski) is her own. As her obsession grows, she becomes more and more entwined in the young girl’s life, causing her to lose touch with reality. 

The film marks the first acquisition by R & R Films, the new Australia/New Zealand film consultancy and distribution company established by industry veterans Richard Becker (Becker Film Group) and Robert Slaviero, former CEO of Hoyts Distribution and StudioCanal. Fortitude International is handling international sales.
