The Australian romantic comedy TOP END WEDDING, co-written by and starring Darwin’s own Miranda Tapsell, is currently shooting in the Northern Territory. Now Entertainment One has revealed the first official photo from the shoot.
Directed by Wayne Blair (The Sapphires, Cleverman) and co-written by Joshua Tyler (Plonk), it follows engaged couple Lauren (Miranda Tapsell) and Ned (Gwilym Lee), who have just 10 days to find Lauren’s mother who has gone AWOL somewhere in the Northern Territory, reunite her parents and pull off their dream Top End Wedding.
The film also features a number of cast members from Blair’s The Sapphires, including Shari Sebbens (Thor: Ragnarok, Redfern Now). Other cast members include AACTA Award nominee Kerry Fox (Bright Star,Cloud Street), Ursula Yovich (The Code, Around The Block, Australia), Huw Higginson (Janet King, A Place To Call Home, The Bill) and Elaine Crombie (Top of The Lake, Redfern Now, Black Comedy).
Producers Rosemary Blight and Kylie du Fresne are on board for Goalpost Pictures. It is due to hit Australian cinemas in 2019.
