Marvel releases first ‘Black Panther’ teaser trailer

Black Panther

If you’ve been yearning for something a bit different from Marvel Studios, then the new teaser trailer for BLACK PANTHER might just be the ticket. Following the reveal of the poster earlier today, we now get our first look at footage from the 2018 film.

To the tune of “Legend Has It” from Run the Jewels, we are introduced to the world of Wakanda through a torturous interview with Ulysses Klaue/Klaw (Andy Serkis). Director Ryan Cooger and cinematographer Rachel Morrison’s visuals are balanced between the secret heart of Africa and the streets of America, this is an impeccably cut teaser that has us very excited for the forthcoming film.

Depicting T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), who was first introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, the newly minted Wakandan king takes to the throne. It’s a particularly powerful image for long-time Marvel readers, as Black Panther is a central figure in the most powerful corners of the Marvel Comics Universe.

BLACK PANTHER hits Australian cinemas on 15 February 2018, and the US on 16 February, from Disney.
