‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ teaser spot (re)introduces a legend

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Beyond a few set shots and logos, we knew very little about SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. That changed on Monday Australian time, as the Super Bowl unleashed a massive piece of footage from the forthcoming Han Solo origin story. Due out in on 25 May 2018 (24 May in Australia), the teaser trailer is certainly more tonally different than we’ve been led to believe.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo, with Donald Glover joining him as a young Lando Calrissian. In June this year, Howard took over directing duties from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who left (or were asked to leave) the production three quarters of the way through production.

The trailer shows Solo’s early attempts at starting a farming community in North Tatooine before he finds his true voice as a singer in the Mos Eisley band. Or was that some fan-fiction we were reading? You’ll have to watch the teaser below to find out.

A full trailer is expected tomorrow.
