Legend tells us that when the winter rains begin to fall on the city, the Sydney Film Festival shall return to impress us with its line-up. The latest press release from the 65th Sydney Film Festival also tells us that we’ll see the SFF back from Wednesday 6 June to Sunday 17 June 2018. It’s time to start preparing our bodies and minds for the festivities.

Our favourite film festival (sorry other festivals) returns for another 12 days and nights filled with premieres, talks, parties, international director and actor guests and more. SFF Director Nashen Moodley says, “2018 is already shaping up to be another incredible year for Sydney Film Festival. Audiences will dive into 12 days of cinematic splendour, both world class features and fascinating documentaries plucked straight from Cannes, Sundance, Berlinale, and many more prestigious festivals on the international circuit.”

While the first titles in this year’s program won’t be announced until Wednesday 4 April, with the full festival program to be revealed in May, the SFF has already hinted that there will be over 250 films and in excess of 150 local and international guests to keep us entertained.

The Festival takes place across Greater Sydney: at the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, Randwick Ritz, Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, Art Gallery of NSW, Casula Powerhouse, Skyline Drive-In Blacktown, the Festival Hub at Sydney Town Hall and SFF Outdoor Screen in Pitt Street Mall.

Last year we managed to see a whopping (and unprecedented for us) 51 films from 21 different countries in 6 different cinemas, and we’re confident that Richard is mad enough to try and beat that this year.
