While Avengers: Infinity War drops in cinemas around the world from today, the other great sequel of the year has delivered its first trailer. You can check out the very brief teaser for GINTAMA 2(銀魂2) below. The film is due out on 17 August 2018 in Japan.
The teaser tells us virtually nothing, which seems appropriate for something as monumentally silly as this franchise. Following the rhetorical question “Are you ready?” there’s a collection of promotional stills and what seems to be a montage of clips from the first film.
The sequel to Gintama, and based the manga and anime of the same name, the first film was the top grossing domestic film (live action) at the Japanese box office with ¥4.6 billion, following Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter and Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Nankyoku Kachi Kochi Daibōken.
This follows the earlier news that the principal cast for the film of Shun Oguri, Masaki Suda, and Kanna Hashimoto will return. Yuichi Fukuda (50 First Kisses) will also direct the sequel.
