The CW is no stranger to changing costumes of its heroes. Green Arrow lost his sleeves briefly over on Arrow, bringing him a little closer to his comic book counterpart. Now the network has revealed the promo art for the fifth season of THE FLASH, complete with a new look for the Scarlet Speedster.
The differences are immediately obvious to long time fans. Dropping the leather look that thematically ties it to big brother Arrow, the textured fabric is also a brighter shade of red, with a colour scheme that looks even closer to the comic book Flash.
When we left Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) at the end of Season 4, we were introduced to Iris and Barry’s daughter Nora (Michelle Harrison) from the future, claiming she’d made “a big, big mistake.” From the teaser trailer we’ve seen so far, there’s every indication that Barry will be wearing the costume that comes out of his ring. As Nora says “total fan favourite.”
THE FLASH returns to the CW on 9 October 2018 on the CW, and 10 October 2018 in Australia on Fox8.
