Paul McCartney just wants to ‘Fuh You’ in new single

Paul McCartney - Fuh You

If only we could all be as vital as Sir Paul McCartney at the tender age of 76. Following a successful world tour last year (in which he averaged about 40 songs over a 3-hour set), and that viral video with James Corden this year, the former Beatle has released a fun new single off his forthcoming record Egypt Station.

The surprisingly cheeky single will appear alongside ‘I Don’t Know’ and previous released stomper ‘Come On To Me’ when the album drops on 7 September 2018 from Capitol Records.

“With this one I was in the studio with Ryan Tedder whereas the rest of the album has been made with Greg Kurstin,” recalls McCartney of the recording process for ‘Fuh You.’ “We were just thinking of ideas and little pieces of melody and chords and the song just came together bit by bit. And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story. So it was like ‘Come on baby now. Talk about yourself. Tell the truth, let me get to know you’ and basically I wanna know how you feel, you make me wanna go out and steal. I just want it for you. So that was the basic idea and it developed from there… sort of a love song, but a raunchy love song. There you go – fuh you.”

Egypt Station, which shares a title with one of the artist’s own paintings, will be McCartney’s first new album since NEW in 2013. He says the album “starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station.”
