CineAsia to release Lee Hae-Young’s ‘Believer’ in Australia and NZ

CineAsia Oz has uploaded a new trailer for BELIEVER (독전), the latest thriller from director Lee Hae-Young. Releasing in South Korea on 24 May 2018, the local distributor has announced it will be released in Australia/New Zealand on 7 June 2018.

Mr. Lee is the boss of the biggest drug ring in South Korea. To catch him, Detective Won-Ho (Cho Jin-Woong) must work with a member of Lee’s drug ring, Rak (Ryoo Joon-Yeol). The film is, of course, a remake of Johnnie To’s 2012 crime drama Drug War.

The massive cast, which also includes Kim Sung-Ryoung (Keys to the Heart) and Kim Ju-Hyeok (The Tooth and the Nail), the last role he appeared in before he died in a car accident on 30 October 30 2017.

BELIEVER marks the return of filmmaker Lee Hae-Young. His last film was period horror film The Silenced (2015), but he has also had a notable career as a writer of such hits as Like a Virgin (2006) and Au Revoir, UFO (2004). You can check out the trailer below.
